There are a number of free and contribution-based food resource programs available for people of different ages and demographics who are lower income: women, infants, and children; single people and families; those who are unhoused; older adults, among others. A number of additional food resources, often supported by non-profit, faith-based, and other community-based organizations, which aren’t listed in this food section, may also be available in your community. To determine which local food supports are available, one may reach out to one’s local 211, the Eldercare Locator, or the USDA National Hunger Hotline by phone or text for further support.
